a modern burgundy bouquet

a rich and dramatic bouquet i whipped up for the jasmine star workshop...did some "flower-blocking" where i kept each type of flower grouped together in sections, rather than mixed perfectly together...

we used burgundy dahlias, black cala lilies, green anthirium, cobra lilies and some variegated tropical leaves...

thanks to jasmine for the lovely, lovely photos!

and these last 2 shots were taken by one of the workshop attendees, cat mayer...i LOVE these ones!

thanks for sharing ladies!

mia and clay - palos verdes

here is a really pretty, springtime wedding we designed with a touch of old world european flair and a bit of glamour! tons of green, white + brown...cherry blossom branches...footed vases...crystal beaded appliques....glass candlesticks - pure loveliness!

a soft, romantic bridal bouquet in shades of white and cream - with lots of texture!

tall cherry blossom and hydrangea arrangements anchored the centerpieces on the dinner tables...set at the base were 3 smaller monobotanical arrangements of green parrot tulips, white ranunculas, white sweet peas, green vibernum, helleborous, etc.

a lush head table full of florals, glass candlesticks and vases wrapped in chocolate ribbon with crystal beaded appliques...

a ceremony arch that consisted of ALL cherry blossom branches...it was the epitome of springtime but still modern since we used only one type of branch...clean, classic and not "overly done"...

large cherry blossom and hydrangea pieces flanked the head of the aisle...

each bridesmaid carried a different type of white flower - all sweet peas, all mini calas, all tulips, all peonies, etc.

the cherry blossom theme carried through to their stationery...

the curved shape of footed vases and glass candlesticks added some glamour to the rustic, european ballroom...

i gotta give it up to miss jesi haack, who i always love working with!
to elegant designs for providing the linens...
and to asgeir fotographica who took all the pretty photos!

congrats to mia and clay! xoxo

kirstin and brigham - brookside equestrian center, walnut

i just love clients who have a great sense of style and are design-minded but who also trust me and kinda let me do my thing...that is exactly how kristin and brigham were! they brought certain thematic elements to the table (gray/yellow/steel blue color palette, birds nests, lemons, burlap) but left the rest of the floral/decor schematics up to me! although i was out of town the day of the install, my wonderful staff did an amazing job! i couldn't be prouder :)

also, a special thank you to abby at style me pretty for featuring this wedding! you can read the full post here...

now feast your eyes on these delicious photos from jill thomas, who has officially won over my photography heart :)

bridesmaids bouquets of gray dusty miller, beige scabiosa pods, white lisianthus, yellow ranunculas and yellow billy balls...

amazing views of the hills...and the hollywood sign!!

kristin had 6 flower girls...so we gave each of them one long stemmed white china mum to hold...

small floral clusters accented the ceremony chairs - we tied up gray dusty miller, yellow soladaster, yellow fever few and white china mums...the clusters were attached to the chairs using crochet laces and various ruffled ribbons...

for the dining tables, the bride provided a burlap runner that we set with varying size/shape bottles and vases - we used a mixture of milkglass, blue glass and clear glass and filled them with one type of yellow or white theme flower - queen anne's lace, billy balls, scabiosa pods, soladaster, fever few, china mums, lisianthus, etc. we also added some rustic brown dried pods that each held a cream balsa wood flower...

kristin provided these super cute table number holders made of wood...

we adorned the 2 trees flanking the ceremony site with white frames, each finished with a couple white china mum blooms...

brigham's boutonniere was a small succulent, a yellow billy ball and a beige scabiosa pod, all tied up with rustic twine...

kristin's bouquet was made up of succulents, white and yellow ranunculas, beige scabiosa pods, white lisianthus, yellow billy balls and gray dusty miller...we wrapped the stems in an ivory scallop edged lace...

the placecard strips were wrapped around lemons and placed in cute little brown birds nests from the bride...once we added some wood crates and swing top bottles filled with yellow and white flowers the placecard table was good to go!

we have been making a lot of these lately! it's my alternative to the cheesy "grandma corsage" thats overdone with lots of ribbon and filler greens...this is chic and simple and matches pretty much every outfit...i refer to it as the "carrie bradshaw" corsage - just one big bloom and call it a day :)

simple buttercream cake on my rustic wood crate cake stand, accented with succulents and billy balls...

and because everyone loves a good sparkler getaway...
